Hiking, walking, the Air Line trail. A rail to trail conversion that runs from East Hampton to Thompson Connecticut.
Easy walk from Rt 149 to River Road. Slight incline from River Road to the Salmon River bridge, a little more grade from the bridge to Bull Hill Rd.
A beautiful day to be out.
Running, jogging, cycling, walking, Sandy Hollow Road crossing the Ledyard reservoir is ideal. Especially on an early fall like day. Light traffic, clear sight lines, and breakdown lanes – not wide enough for a vehicle but room enough for you.
Really new today! It’s this blogs birthday, literally.
Conceived while out walking this morning on the way to Ledyard Congregational Church monthly pancake breakfast.
Fitness walking the roads here can be challenging. There’s little room for anything other than cars on many of the roads and speeds can seem very threatening when that much steel is hurtling towards you. At least today was in the daylight, not my usual early morning walk.
But, Ledyard can be a great place to walk. I separate my fitness walking from the more sedate, placid wandering along the many trail walks here in town and the neighboring countryside. I’ll share the trails and I’ll try to help improve the fitness walking opportunities, feel free to join me and follow along.
I hope you’ll join me as I explore the walks…
